Welcome to The Arts Society Colchester's website

Our objective is to enhance our membership's appreciation of our artistic and cultural heritage, both national and international, in the lively company of others with similar interests. We hold ten monthly lectures, from October through to July. These are on a diverse range of arts related topics through which we aim to expand our knowledge of areas not always encountered. In addition there are extended Study Days, where there will be four to six lectures covering a given subject in much greater depth.

Please remember that December’s lecture starts at the earlier time of 10.45 am, with madeira and mince pies to follow. Membership renewal packs will also be handed out - please bring your cheque books. 

Booking for the January 2018 Study Course, 'From Neo-Georgianism to The Shard: Architecture from 1910 to the Present' by Anthea Streeter is now open. Booking forms can be found on the Special Interest page of the website and at the December lecture. 

The 2018 trip to Munich will take place from Saturday 28 April to Thursday 3 May (five nights, six days). Participants will stay at the 4* Hotel Torbräu in central Munich and the tour leader will be Thomas Abbott.
